A Cottage Gazebo Has to Survive the Months Nobody Is There
Most Kawartha gazebos sit through a winter with nobody shovelling the roof. That is the design problem: a solid roof holding months of snow, on posts that may stand on shallow rock or a shoreline lot. We size the roof for the load first and the footings for the ground.
Screens are the other big one here. By June the blackflies make a screened gazebo worth it, so we frame for proper screen panels from the start rather than stapling them on afterward.

- Frost depth
- Where there is soil, footings go below the frost line. We confirm the design depth for your location.

- Cottage builds are planned around road access and the building season.
