Under By-law 189-2025, a fence along a rear lot line in Vaughan can go to 2.5 metres, about 8 feet 2 inches. That is half a metre more than Newmarket or Aurora, and enough to properly screen a two-storey neighbour.
The catch is the driveway. Within 2.4 metres of a driveway the limit drops to 2.0 metres, to keep sightlines clear for cars backing out. We work out which parts of your run fall where before we quote, and set every post in concrete below the frost line.
